Its members are some of the preeminent Jazz artists and educators in the nation, all of whom have deep ties to the greater Cincinnati music education community. The ensemble explores the works of contemporary composers as well as those of the masters of the Jazz heritage, including Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis and Gil Evans.
Many of you know and love one of POP’s favorite musicians, Jeff Lyke, who recently underwent major surgery in June to remove cancer from his salivary gland and reconstruct part of his mouth. We’re coming together as a community to show our support and help his family with the estimated $40,000 not covered by medical insurance. This special concert is a benefit event, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute during the show. Let’s lift him up with music, generosity, and love!
