“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young,
but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct,
in love, in faith and in purity.”
Every one of us is sent into the world with one mission: to live & love like Jesus.
The goal of Prince of Peace Youth and Family ministry is to equip families to love like Jesus by forming lives of discipleship and mission. Youth opportunities at POP are meant to stretch students into disciples who:
grow in faith
connect in community
serve the world
Upcoming Youth and Kids Activities
Begins Sunday, September 14
9:45-10:25
www.popluther.org/spark
Spark meets weekly from 9:45-10:25 am on Sundays. We will begin each morning in Room 136.
Spark is back this fall! This program is for all families with children that will be entering Kindergarten through 6th grade. Come and explore stories of God’s love as we grow in faith together. Spark will use music, games, discussions, and hands-on activities to ignite our faith. Following Jesus, we will let our light shine!
Sparklers: During this same time, children who are not yet in kindergarten, and are least 3 years old, will have their own class in room 313 (POP Kids hallway). Parents are invited to attend with little ones as they start this new program.
Celebrate the start of Wednesday Friendsday with Bob Ross painting time! Senior high students can bring a friend and make some new ones while we follow a tutorial and remember there are no mistakes--just happy accidents! Afterward, the paintings will be hung in the Youth Room! Snacks and supplies will be provided. 6-8pm
(all other Wednesday Friendsdays will be 7-8pm)
The last Wednesday of the month, senior high students meet for Oikos, youth group with a meal in someone's home. After dinner, we'll play a game and do a devotion, harkening back to the early days of the Christian church.
High school students are invited to find Jesus in the church, in the past, in the present, and in the world during the fall retreat at the Convent! Through devotions, games, service projects, and fun, 9-12th graders build friendships and their relationships with God! Ask anyone who's gone, the Convent retreats are not to miss!
Register here by September 19th!
Learn More About Youth Programs
Prince of Peace offers dynamic faith formation opportunities for youth of all ages.
The littlest disciples at Prince of Peace are an important part of our family of faith! Many join their parents in worship or the nursery on Sunday mornings. They have an opportunity to participate in Cherub Choir, Sparklers (Kids Christian Education), Vacation Bible School, and more starting at age 3.
Children are embraced at Prince of Peace. We value the friendships and connections kids and their families build through their participation in many activities. These include Joyful Noise (children’s choir), Spark: Where Faith is Ignited, First Communion, POP456 (youth group for 4th-6th graders, Vacation Bible School and summer camp at Hopewood Pines.
Middle School years at Prince of Peace are full of ways for students to get involved as they transition from childhood to teenage years in their faith. These programs include faith formation opportunities (Middle School Ministry and Firmly Planted), just for fun opportunities (laser tag, nerf nights, movies), expanded service and music opportunities, and overnight events like summer camp at Hopewood Pines, retreats, and more.
POPLuthYouth is the name we’ve given this age group at Prince of Peace. We are inclusive, fun-loving, deep, and always excited to meet new friends. There are opportunities every month for connection, growing in faith, and service.
