Confirmation 2027

Confirmation is when 9th grade students get to confirm the faith promises made at their baptism, through a celebration called Affirmation of Baptism. As many students are babies when they are baptized, this is the moment where they get to publicly claim their faith as their own. With this claiming of their faith, they step into adulthood in the church.

Confirmation at PoP involves making a Faith Fold, a tri-fold board that shows the student’s faith journey. Through questions about their baptism, bible stories, service projects, and more, students display their faith in a way that is unique to them. The sky’s the limit when finding a theme for your faith fold. It is important that is it personal to you! All questions and boards are provided, decorating supplies can be provided as well.

Faith Fold rough drafts (text only) are due August 26th

Faith Celebration

Sunday, October 17th

The faith journeys of the Confirmands are celebrated between services on Sunday, October 17th. Faith Folds are on display, the congregation admires the hard work the students have put in and reminisce on being a part of the journey, and there’s cake. It’s a wonderful morning!

Confirmation Rehearsal is held after the 10:30 service on the 17th. For students and parents, we will go over who stands where, what the overall worship will look like, speaking roles, and all other info for Confirmation itself.

Confirmation

Weekend of October 25 & 26

Confirmation is celebrated on Reformation weekend, a weekend where we look to how the Holy Spirit has moved throughout church history and where the Spirit is calling us today.

Students may be confirmed at the 5pm Saturday or the Sunday 10:30.

Dress code is between business casual and semi formal. No jeans or athletic pants/shoes. Students are reminded that they will have lots of people looking at them, photos will be taken, and they will be standing and kneeling in front of the congregation.
