Senior High Youth Program (9th - 12th)

As disciples, we are growing in our faith through Bible study, fellowship and service. Senior High Youth Ministry at Prince of Peace is for all 9th to 12th graders. Participants must have a Prince of Peace Activity Permission Form on file to participate.

Activities

Senior High Sunday School is held at 9:30 am on Sundays (of course!). We get together and talk about the Word over donuts. We try to look at topics from YOUR point of view-- with prompts such as: How does my life with God fit in with me being a teenager? Is the Bible that important? And many more.

Sunday Night Live occurs one Sunday evening a month. Usually we delve into a topic and discuss it as it relates to our faith. In the past, we’ve talked about integrity, peer pressure, lies, judging others, rationalizing, and other spiritual and relevant topics. These evenings are an opportunity to share your opinions and beliefs with others without fear of being judged. We close these nights with a time for games and hanging out.

Retreats are an important part of youth ministry at Prince of Peace. At least twice a year, we take time from our busy schedules to step away from it all, reflect and have fun. On top of Bible studies, discussions and devotional time together, we also hear live music, play games and enjoy being together. A keynote speaker usually leads our POP Retreat.

Bible Study is a small group opportunity for youth. Our Bible study meets on one weeknight every other week at Prince of Peace for one hour from 7:00-8:00 pm .

Service for others helps us grow. We have multiple times throughout the year for service and discipleship. These will range from serving at Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, visiting Loveland Healthcare and some new opportunities. Because we want every youth to have a chance to participate, these will be scheduled at various times, usually the weekend.

Fellowship Opportunities: We recognize that "where two or three are gathered in my name" so God is also (Matthew 18:20), so we love spending time together. Throughout the year there are times for lock-ins, miniature golf, bowling and other fellowship and fun.

Summer Opportunities: We spend one week during the summer going on a service trip or to the Triennial ELCA Youth Gathering. These events combine faith, fun, fellowship, service, Bible study and time with God for an amazing opportunity.
