Prince of Peace became an organized congregation of the Lutheran Church in America in 1963 with 53 adults and 60 children. Construction of the original part of our church facility was completed in 1966. Members worshiped on folding chairs in what is now Fellowship Hall.
Installed in 1971, Pastor Tom Stroeh was the third pastor to serve this congregation. By 1976 Prince of Peace was financially self-sufficient. Signs of growth include the addition of a second Sunday service in 1977, the call to a second pastor, Deborah Steed, in 1985, and a Saturday evening service in 1993. In 2000, we added a 9:30 fourth service which runs during the Sunday School hour. The current sanctuary (with stained glass windows and real pews!) was added in 1990-91, and additional classrooms and office space were added in 1996. Pastor Tom retired in 2005, and Jonathan Eilert was called to serve as Lead Pastor at Prince of Peace starting in March 2006. In Feb. of 2007 Grant Eckhart was called to serve as well. Today, we have over 1100 members and an average combined attendance at all four weekly services of 451.

As we look to the future, we see even more opportunities and growth. In January 2002 we completed the building of a Parish Life Center with an enlarged kitchen, two additional classrooms, and space large enough to have congregational dinners, play volleyball or half court basketball. The best news is WE HAVE ROOM FOR YOU!
