Catechism Program

Our youth in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades meet on approximately 22 Sunday evenings (6:15-8:30) during the 7th and 8th grade school year to study the basic teachings (including Bible, Small Catechism and history) of the Lutheran Church. Classes include games, skits, singing, prayer journeys, snacks, small group time and teaching led by the pastors and other lay teachers. Each student is assigned to a small group which reviews the teaching, shares personal concerns and prayers and engages in service projects. Early in their 9th grade year, students discuss personal discipleship and congregational involvement and then have the opportunity to publicly affirm their baptism and their Christian faith (usually on Reformation Sunday).
